SOFT SKILLS & APPRECIATION
WE CELEBRATE CHARACTER AS MUCH AS ACHIEVEMENT
Overview
At our school, we believe that true education is not just about marks, medals, or stage performances. It is also about who a child becomes. Skills like patience, empathy, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, self-control, humility, and leadership shape a child’s character and future. That is why we actively observe, nurture, and celebrate soft skills in our students. Children who consistently display positive behaviours are acknowledged and encouraged—just like we appreciate achievements in academics, sports, arts, music, and dance.
Importance of Soft Skills
Soft skills are termed as the 21st century skills as these qualities help children succeed in life, relationships, leadership roles, and future workplaces. A child who is confident, kind, responsible, and emotionally balanced grows into a capable and happy adult. Some of the examples of Soft skills we appreciate:
- Patience – staying calm, listening carefully, and responding thoughtfully
- Teamwork – supporting peers, collaborating, sharing responsibilities
- Anger Management – maintaining self-control and resolving issues peacefully
- Interpersonal Skills – communicating respectfully and building healthy relationships
- Responsibility – owning tasks, completing work on time, being dependable
- Empathy & Kindness – helping others, including everyone, showing compassion
- Leadership – guiding a group positively and motivating others
- Initiative – taking small steps independently without being told
- Resilience – trying again after failure and showing a growth mindset

Huge Appreciation
Appreciation helps toddlers feel safe, valued, and confident. When you notice and praise their small wins or kind acts, it teaches them how to behave, builds high self-esteem, and shapes early social skills. Showing appreciation also models empathy, guiding them to show gratitude to others as they grow. Being appreciative helps children grow into the happy and healthy adults we know they can be!
