Why Soft Skills Are Important!
At our school, we believe that true education is not only about marks, medals, or stage performances. It is equally about who a child becomes. Skills such as patience, empathy, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, self-control, humility, and leadership play a vital role in shaping a child’s character and future. That is why we actively observe, nurture, and celebrate soft skills in our students. Children who consistently demonstrate positive behaviours are acknowledged and encouraged, just as we appreciate achievements in academics, sports, arts, music, and dance.
Creativity
Creativity is woven into daily learning through art, expression, projects and imagination-based activities. This helps students develop original thinking, communication skills and self-expression.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Learners are encouraged to question, analyse and think independently. By fostering critical thinking skills, our educators motivate students to be independent and reflective learners who engage with new ideas and make informed decisions based on evidence and reason. Emphasis on critical thinking and real-world experiences help students become thoughtful problem-solvers and lifelong learners.
Communication Skills
Effective communication is developed through classroom discussions, presentations, collaborative activities and creative expression. Students learn to express their ideas clearly while listening with respect and understanding.

Interpersonal Skills
Interpersonal skills enable students to communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently with others. They learn to listen actively, express themselves appropriately, and understand social cues. These skills help students build positive relationships, work well in groups, and interact effectively in various social settings.
Accountability
Taking complete ownership of one’s actions, decisions, and performance outcomes rather than passing blame or making excuses when things go wrong, is a key to build trust among others. At VISMA we encourage to imbibe this trait within as instead of procrastination or denial one must be responsible for one’s actions and if a mistake is made the focus immediately has to be on finding solutions.

Empathy & Kindness
Empathy and kindness help students understand the feelings and perspectives of others. They learn to respond with compassion, offer support when needed, and ensure that everyone feels included. These qualities create a warm, caring school culture where students feel valued and respected.
Leadership

How We Celebrate Soft Skills
Each month, students who excel in demonstrating positive behaviours are recognised as Soft Skill Stars. Their achievements are highlighted on our school website and social media platforms so the entire community can celebrate their growth. They are also invited on stage during school assemblies, where their efforts are acknowledged and appreciated in front of their peers.
